OUR WORK
The client brief was to provide a new coffee shop to replace the existing one. The client wished to expand in size and develop a coffee shop that made their garden centre a destination venue.
The client's initial idea was to simply move the existing coffee shop from its position on the left to the right. Vision were able to advise the client against their initial plans as they would not have met their desired objective. Instead a total relocation of the coffee shop was recommended. The appropriate area identified was a greenhouse at the back of the garden centres, this would provide the space needed and meet the client's ultimate objective. The need for future-proofing and customer flows was also considered.
The greenhouse was typical; it included stone floors and a steel roof. There were many open doors and height was an issue. Despite the difficulties, the whole project from concept to completion, lasted 10 weeks. As this was a turnkey process, Vision handled the whole process. This included the kitchen, counters, finishes, new flooring and stud walls. Structured steels were painted, bespoke shop fit counters were designed and seating plans were arranged. Vision also handled the full interior design.
Based on Vision's expertise and experience, the client was advised that more growth was easily achievable and the final coffee shop now seats 86 customers.
TESTIMONIAL
'The transformation Vision have made to our coffee shop is phenomenal. We had followed Vision in the HTA magazine for some time and, knowing that our existing coffee shop was dated and had huge potential if it was to be expanded, we contacted them.
Their knowledge of the garden centre industry and expertise in developing garden centre coffee shops into destination venues, sold Vision for us. It was crucial that the project was delivered by the beginning of November, in time for our busy period in the Spring. From starting in September, the project was complete just 12 weeks later.
We always had regular customers at Brookside, but we are now seeing new faces and, having doubled the coffee shop in size, it's proving very popular!'
