Vision provided a price to suit the drawings and specifications which were presented in a tender package for the catering facilities at Oakland Village, Swadlincote. There was a very tight deadline and turnaround for this project as Vision received the tender package in July 2012 and the kitchen was installed in October 2012.
On being awarded the scheme, Vision were given the opportunity to alter designs and improve the kitchen flow as well as advising on cost saving alternatives where necessary.
The site itself was almost completed with built walls, steel works and electrical trays already in place. However, Vision worked around the existing site conditions to complete their work and fit equipment accordingly.
The client and the end user were extremely satisfied with the end result. Since completion, the end user placed a further order for all sundries and an additional server counter in order to allow them to develop their menu offer.
This project marked the involvement of Vision working within care home projects with a difference. As care homes make a move towards becoming community spaces which provide a retail offering to the public, not just their residents. Vision employed their skills, knowledge and expertise alongside excellent communication and organisation to deliver this project within a short time frame.
