JORO is a Sheffield restaurant built around a unique Japanese-inspired culinary experience. Vision Commercial Kitchens designed and installed a high-end open kitchen that immerses guests in the dining experience, supporting JORO's ambitious tasting menus.
The Brief
Vision was tasked with delivering a kitchen that would fully support JORO's culinary vision. The brief required: A high-performance kitchen built on Electrolux's Thermaline range, known for its durability and presence in Michelin-starred restaurants; An open kitchen design that showcased chefs at work; A facility that was both visually striking and highly efficient, seamlessly integrated with the restaurant's aesthetic.

Design
The design centred on the Electrolux Thermaline range, creating a robust platform for culinary excellence. To realise the open kitchen concept, a series of specially designed islands were positioned in front of the cookline. These allowed chefs to finish dishes in full view of diners, highlighting the artistry and energy of service. Behind the main cooking area, a dedicated prep kitchen was created to handle preparation before dishes reached the finishing stations.
Our Work
The project presented logistical challenges. Initial construction in Sheffield city centre was delayed, prompting a relocation to Oughtibridge. This allowed the design to be further refined. Unexpected structural issues at the new site, including drainage limitations, required innovative solutions such as waste pump integration to maintain efficiency. Vision worked proactively with Chef Luke French and theJORO team, ensuring the design aligned with their vision. Strong project management and communication kept delivery on track.
