CLIENT: Spuds & Berries Farm Shop

PROJECT LOCATION: Selby | Yorkshire & North East

For over 90 years the Tomlinson family have farmed at Babthorpe. The story began with Vincent Tomlinson who, returning from the First World War, took up tenancy at Babthorpe Lodge. Vincent's Great Granddaugter, Laura, is the driving force behind the coffee shop at Spuds & Berries.

OUR WORK

The brief was to create an extension to the side of the farm shop which would house the new cafe. The idea of the cafe was to deliver a space in which customers could sample goods whilst also having the option to purchase the goods from the farm shop. They are also located within a rural area, so if delivered correctly, Vision had the ability to help Laura and her family create a destination restaurant. 

The client had concerns about sustainability issues and cooking equipment efficiency and so Vision designed the kitchen to be completely electric and included a Falcon induction range. The kitchen also included a Rational combination oven and a counter which includes a stunning refrigerated display. Vision also procured coldrooms, extraction, all internal and external furniture and designed an eye-catching, bespoke, shop fit counter.

The install was completed over a period of 7 days to minimise impact to the business and also to fit in with the client's building programme. The client was left with a kitchen that would allow the staff to deliver a varied menu of home cooked, high quality meals and training was conducted on all new pieces of equipment post installation.
