The Old Railway Line Garden Centre was established in 1990 on the site of the old Brecon to Hereford Branch of the Midland Railway. The garden centre has continually grown and has become a premier, destination garden centre.

THE BRIEF
Following several chance meetings at garden centre industry events, Vision went to visit the owners at The Old Railway Line. At this point, the garden centre had a small, stand alone coffee shop with the ability to cater for 40 covers with no room for expansion. Although the coffee shop was small it was busy and successful.
The owners wished to expand their number of covers to 150 and had plans to build a whole new building in which to situate the restaurant. They required a kitchen which would be capable of meeting their ambitions as well as supporting a new farm shop. Vision were tasked with ensuring that the new restaurant was open on time.
THE DESIGN
Vision were involved in every aspect of the project from the front of house layout to the furniture, interior design, crockery and even the toilets.
The standard, corrugated steel roof which was within the building wasn't very aesthetically pleasing and so Vision, with the assistance of expert building professionals, transformed this into a stunning feature ceiling with a tempered air-conditioning system and state of the art hot water system.
Full staff training was provided by manufacturers on site and a copy of the Health and Safety manual was supplied to the client on the completion of the project. The owners were left delighted with their new facilities.
