Wycombe Abbey is an all-girls boarding school in High Wycombe. Vision Commercial Kitchens delivered a new catering facility — The Courtyard — to complement the main school dining hall, improving choice and service for pupils, parents and visitors.

Why a second servery: easing peak-time pressure

The school sought a modern, self-contained catering space to operate alongside the main dining hall. The Courtyard needed to improve flow at peak times and create a distinct front-of-house experience without disrupting existing service.

Bespoke Proline counters, robust Vision back-of-house

Vision designed, installed and project managed the facility, including the kitchen, servery counter and island unit. Given the complexity of the front-of-house, Proline provided fully bespoke counters tailored to the school's requirements. Back-of-house included a Hobart hood-type dishwasher and True refrigeration for reliable day-to-day operation.

On-time, on-budget delivery - and a modern, stylish result

Vision worked closely with Ian Downie (Estates Director), the architect and the contract caterer to coordinate works and maintain school operations. The project was completed on time and on budget, integrating neatly with existing facilities and providing additional capacity for busy service. The Courtyard delivers a modern, stylish space with improved circulation and choice, enhancing the overall catering offer for pupils, parents and visitors.

Testimonial

“I couldn’t be happier with the work Vision have done. The Courtyard is a modern, stylish space and a fantastic addition to the school’s catering facilities. Feedback from the girls has been very positive and we want to thank Vision and all the parties involved. We will look to Vision for any future expansions." — Ian Downie, Estates Director, Wycombe Abbey
