The Pheasantry Café is located in Bushy Park, one of London’s largest royal parks. The café was refurbished to enhance the visitor experience and expand the menu, with the project shortlisted for two international design awards.
Vision Commercial Kitchens was appointed by Colicci, building on a longstanding partnership across multiple sites.
A full refurbishment brief
The client’s brief required a complete strip-out of the existing facilities to enable a full refurbishment, including both the café and the adjacent ice cream kiosk. Vision was asked to align the design with Colicci’s established brand strategy and design principles, focusing on customer experience, operational flow, and improved refrigeration storage.
Upgrading facilities and equipment
The new kitchen was designed to support an expanded menu with greater efficiency. Vision introduced a new front-of-house bar and servery area, balancing aesthetics with functionality for both the café and the ice cream kiosk. Within the kiosk, a specialist Carpigiani display system was specified to deliver reliable and high-quality ice cream service. Selected existing equipment was also refurbished and reintegrated, ensuring sustainability and cost-effectiveness without compromising performance.
Managing the installation
The project involved the construction of new walls, floors, and ceilings, requiring all equipment to be removed, cleaned, serviced, and reinstalled alongside new items. Careful coordination was essential to align with the construction schedule, but the installation phase progressed smoothly and on time thanks to close collaboration with all stakeholders.
