OUR WORK
The company behind the venture, originally tested a pop up in the grounds of the building, which was extremely successful. They therefore decided to develop the whole building, including the basement. The renovations are being carried out in stages, with further floors still in progress. The Lake View Garden Bar is positioned at the basement level, which has an outdoor space with stunning views of Lake Windermere.
Vision Commercial Kitchen's work included designing, supplying and installing the main kitchen at the basement level as well as supplying the glass and dishwashing systems on the opposite side of the bar. Vision worked with David Hampshaw from Hargreaves Enterprises on the design and layout. All of the equipment chosen was electric, as the client was looking to lower their carbon footprint by using more energy efficient equipment where possible. Equipment selected included fryers, griddles, dishwash and glasswashers, refrigerated prep counters and pizza ovens.
OUR WORK
Due to the kitchen being at basement level, the ceiling height was very low, a bespoke extract and replacement air system for the cookline was therefore designed to suit the space. The extract ducts had to be directed up the side of the main building, and were powder coated to blend in with the aesthetics of the building. The overall project entailed a lot of building work and coordination with different trades which was made easier as the building contractor on site (Jamie Hardy) was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Having worked on previous projects together, there was a great understanding on site.
Since opening at Easter, the bar has been extremely busy from breakfast right throughout the day and is proving to be very successful. The site is set to become a premier attraction in the area for years to come.
