Brew + Bake relocated from Preston Market to a new, larger site at Bishopgate Gardens. Vision Commercial Kitchens partnered with The Heaton Group to deliver the complete commercial kitchen and bakery fit-out, covering design, specification, supply and installation, ensuring the business could expand while maintaining its reputation for quality.
From Preston Market to Bishopgate Gardens
The move from Preston Market to a high-profile residential development created both opportunities and challenges. Brew + Bake needed a kitchen and bakery design that could increase capacity, provide greater chilled and frozen storage, and support a more diverse menu. The new site also had to integrate smoothly with the mixed-use Bishopgate Gardens development, which includes 130 apartments and communal spaces.
Kitchen Design in a Residential Setting
Vision designed, specified and installed the full catering operation in partnership with The Heaton Group. The scheme included a bespoke extract system, approved by the project architect and fire officer, due to the kitchen's location on the ground floor of a residential building. The new facilities balance functionality and efficiency, with additional refrigerated and freezer storage, robust preparation areas, and equipment suited to both bakery and all-day dining.
A Hub for Food and Community
Since opening, Brew + Bake’s new site has received excellent feedback from customers. The improved facilities support a varied menu from brunch through to evening meals, alongside artisan bread and locally sourced produce. The front-of-house environment, combined with a co-working space, has proven popular with students and local professionals, helping to establish the venue as a hub within Preston.
